Leone F. Weaver, 81, of Sheridan Avenue, Niles, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at her home peacefully, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church in Niles, with Pastor Bill Dudgeon of the church officiating.
The family will gather privately at a later date for committal services at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
Relatives and friends will be received by family at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1927, in Muskegon to Clarence and Thelma (Welch) Fraser.
She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in Michigan with the Class of '45 and has lived in Niles since 1946.
She retired in 1982, after 20 years of service, in the executive offices of Clark Equipment Company.
She was a member of Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Clark Salaried Retirees Club.
She bowled in senior leagues at Whites Lanes and played the Wednesday morning league at Brookwood Golf Course. She also enjoyed reading, especially history and was a member of the Friday Book Club.
On Dec. 15, 1945, in Sparta, she married J. Harold Weaver, Sr., who died on Feb. 23, 1980.
She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Ava Zimmerman, who died Jan. 2, 2008 and a sister, Inez Peters.
Surviving family include her children, James H. (Frances) Weaver, Jr. of Niles and Merry Kay (Larry) Durham of Highland Ranch, Colo.; grandchildren, Lisa, Heather, Lori, Jamie, Josh, Laura and Shane; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Fraser and Jerry Fraser, both of Saint Charles and Earl Fraser of Grand Terrace, Calif.; five sisters, Gerri Keeney and Mary Bielas, both of Grand Terrace, Calif., Joy Wold of Blanchard, Cheryl Moser of Dana Point, Calif. and Kathy Rosenquist of Gresham, Ore.; many nieces, nephews and extended family, Pete and Mary Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church in Niles, or Hospice At Home.
