Breisch finishes third to make U.S. track team

    EUGENE, Ore. – Former Edwardsburg and University of Nebraska standout Becky Breisch finished third in the shot put at the U.S. Track &Field Championships on Thursday.
    By finishing in the top three, Breisch qualifies to be a member of the United States team that will compete in the World Track &Field Championships in Berlin, Germany later this summer.
    Breisch, a state high school champion and 10-time NCAA All-American, had her best throw of 203-feet-8.
    Stephanie Brown-Trafton won the event with a toss of 210-9.
