Sex offender arrested

Alfonso Gibbs, a 32-year-old Benton Township resident, was arrested at a relative’s house on Superior Street in Benton Harbor for failing to change his address and failing to verify his address, as he is required to do as a convicted sex offender.

Police acted on a citizen’s anonymous tip. Gibbs was also arrested for other unrelated charges, including on a felony drug warrant.

Gibbs was recently released from the Berrien County Jail.
