Fair / 26° FLeague of Women Voters to host speakers at luncheon
Published 12:00pm Monday, November 9, 2009The League of Women Voters is hosting a lunch meeting on Friday, Nov. 20 at noon at Fernwood Botanical Garden in Niles featuring speakers from the Berrien County Health Department.
Mike Mortimore, director of the Berrien County Department of Public Health, will give an overview of the many important responsibilities of the Department of Public Health. Nicki Britten, epidemiologist, will present and explain the brand new Behavioral Risk Factor Survey conducted by Michigan State University in Berrien County. This survey deals with health issues between the birth and death statistics and addresses personal habits, access to health care and use of health care.
League members, guests and the interested members of the public are invited to attend.
