ROYAL OAK – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Hope setter Andrea Helminiak its 2009 Most Valuable Player in volleyball.
A senior from Maumee, Ohio (Anthony Wayne HS), Helminiak led the Flying Dutch to a perfect 16-0 record in MIAA play and the league championship.
Hope teammate Kristen Johnson was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Trine’s Betsy Irwin earned Freshman of the Year honors.
