Hometown Christmas celebration Dec. 5

Posted 3 months, 4 weeks ago at 12:41 pm.

The Four Flags Garden Club will host its free 18th Annual Hometown Christmas celebration at the Historic Amtrak Depot, located at 600 Dey St. (off North Fifth Street), from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

Everyone from Niles and surrounding communities are invited to visit the depot at that time to enjoy the beautiful holiday decorations, visit with Santa and enjoy homemade cookies, cider and candy.

Club members will have beautifully-decorated the depot interior and exterior with fresh greens, window topiaries, wreaths and handmade ornaments on the blue spruce tree donated by Durm Farms.

Christmas and Gospel music, performed by the Mt. Calvary Baptist Praise Team, will delight each and everyone. Niles Mayor Mike McCauslin will address the group, and community royalty will stop by.

A special drawing will be held at 5:45 p.m. for two roundtrip tickets, compliments of Amtrak, from Niles to Chicago for two people.  The tickets are free and you must be present to win.

The official lighting of the depot outside lights will be at 6 p.m.

If anyone is interested in learning more about the club, joining the club or would like to help maintain the depot gardens, they should contact Kim at 683-5701.
