Paul Ray Chappel, 54, of 1433 Terminal Rd., Buchanan, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 at his home of natural causes.
Paul was born Jan. 15, 1955 in Salem, Ohio. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan.
He was a mechanic and truck driver. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and enjoyed auto racing.
He is survived by his parents, Russell and Dessie Chappel, of Niles; sister, Patricia (Michael) Herman, of Niles; brothers, Steven (Marge) Chappel, of Watervliet, Mich., and Kenneth (Ruth Thorton) Chappel, of Watervliet; nephews, Russell Chappel, David Chappel and Thomas Herman; nieces, Jennifer Dinges and Stephanie Herman.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Pastor Scott Labbe officiating.
Burial will be held at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until the time of services at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Memorials may be made to Lakeland Hospice, 211 Hilltop Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085.
