Scott Jason Paintin, 34, of Niles, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov.19, 2009 at home.
He was born April 13, 1975 in Iowa City, Iowa. He lived in Niles for more than six years. He married Sarah Paintin June 1, 2006 in Niles. He was a security officer at Memorial Hospital in South Bend and U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; parents, Fred Houm and Renee Martin; son, Bradlee Barker; daughters, Chelsea and Jennifer Barker; brother, Mark Houm; sister, Joselyn Houm.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan. Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sarah Paintin, 238 Roberts St., Niles.

   Scott was like a member of our family. He was greatly loved and will be missed a great deal !! Rest in peace Scott !!

   Scott was my close’s friend but scott didnt have just friends we were his brothers (family) I dont need too name them they know who they are Just a short story on scott from myself Scott and his wife Sara was looking for there 1st home together and he just had too have the home with an apartment above the grage for me to have See I was’nt just a pal/buddy/friend I was a part off his family and he was a part of mine allways I will miss you more then you will ever know my brother
