The Ring Lardner eighth grade Blue team improved to 4-0 on Tuesday with a road win against Lakeshore.

The Vikings defeated the Lancers 53-28.

Niles dominated the boards and used their full court pressure to force numerous Lakeshore turnovers.

Jamal Hinds led all scorers with 20 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Tate Brawley finished with 11 points. Connor Glick did a nice job controlling the paint and boards defensively.

Rounding out the scoring for Niles were Doug Freeman with eight, Greg Jones with six, Dustin Taggart with three, Bostin Hand and Tate Rudlaff with two points and Steven Smith with a point.

Seventh grade

The seventh grade Blue team also improved to 4-0 after defeating Lakeshore 40-21.

At half time the score was 13-8 as Ray Glenn hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Niles pulled away at the end of the third quarter when Gabe Stokes hit a 3-pointer, again at the buzzer, making the score 22-15.

David Kennedy added six points in the fourth quarter, along with three pointers from Elijah Thompson and Sammy Rodts.

The Vikings got great play from Samuel Hill, Alvin Kyles, and Thompson off the bench as early foul trouble caused the starters to have to sit.
