Ring Lardner cage teams find success

The Niles Ring Lardner seventh grade boys’ basketball team remained undefeated with a 37-12 win over Berrien Springs on Monday.

Ray Glenn led the offensive attack with eight points, seven assists and seven rebounds.

Sammy Rodts and Adam Langmeyer shot the ball well from the perimeter and Chris Franz played strong defense and played well off the bench.

The Niles defense played outstanding, only allowing two points in the second half.
The seventh grade Gold team won their sixth game in a row by defeating Elkart Northside 26-40.

Raymond Terry contributed 10 points offensively while Alex Hardy contributed 16 points.

Nick Suckle and Jalen Alexander each had four points to seal the victory.
There was a great defensive effort by everyone.

Alex Bata, Austin Lintz, and Wyatt Thornton had a combined total of 21 rebounds.

Eighth grade
The eighth grade Blue team improved to 7-0 on the year with a 43-30 victory at Berrien Springs Monday.

The Vikings overcame a sluggish start and poor shooting with 17 points from the bench.
Greg Jones brought tremendous energy and sparked the Blue team with 11 points nine rebounds and three assists.

Tate Brawley added eight points and six steals.

Other Viking scorers were Jamal Hinds with six, Dustin Taggart with five, Doug Freeman with four, Tate Rudlaff with three and Bostin Hand, Connor Glick and Steven Smith with two points each.

The eighth grade Gold (6-4) team defeated Elkhart Northside 44-23 despite playing short handed.

The team played with a lot of hustle and unselfishness.

Mason Finley led the team with 14 points, while Kyle Solloway and Nick Knoll added 11 and seven points respectively. Solloway also had six assists.

Kale Pollard had seven rebounds and five steals. Jeremy Wortham had six steals with Austin Weber grabbing four rebounds and Tyler Clutter and Isiah Jeffries handing out three assists.

The eighth grade Blue team ran its record to 8-0 Tuesday night with an impressive 39-23 victory over Elkhart Northside.

The Vikings were outstanding defensively and shared the ball extremely well on offense.
Tate Brawley lead a balanced offensive attack with 10 points. Greg Jones played his second consecutive outstanding game and finished with nine points.

Jamal Hinds distributed the ball and finished with eight points. Tate Rudlaff knocked down two big 3-pointers in the second half and finished with eight points, while Doug Freeman and Conor Glick finished with two points each.

Dustin Taggart was the big difference as he shut down Northside’s best player in the second half.
