2 arrested in Buchanan drug house bust
Published 1:00pm Tuesday, December 15, 2009An investigation into drugs, guns and money caused officers from the Buchanan Police Department to seek a search warrant Friday afternoon for the residence of 314 Bluff St. in Buchanan. City police were assisted by the Berrien County’s Tactical Response Unit and the Berrien County Narcotics unit in executing the search warrant at the Bluff Street address.
Buchanan and Berrien County officers found the house occupied by four people who all who stated they were residents of the home.
The three males and one female found in the house were secured and questioned regarding the suspected criminal activities that they believed to be occurring at this residence. During the search of the residence officers located suspected marijuana, cocaine, three unregistered hand guns and money believed to be the proceeds of an illegal drug trade operating from the home.
Arrested at the scene was Larry Donald Robinson, 43, of 314 Bluff St., Buchanan. He was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, maintaining a drug house, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a double-edged knife.
Also arrested was Daivaughn Jordon Searcy, 20, of 314 Bluff St., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both subjects were transported the St. Joseph where they were lodged in the Berrien County Jail.
Chief William Marx of the Buchanan City Police Department is asking the public to keep calling with any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
