Big Brothers Big Sisters obtains 100 mentors

Dear editor:
The Board of Directors and staff at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass are pleased to announce that we have reached 100 mentors in 2009.  We owe a great debt of thanks to the many new mentors who have come forward this year as well as to veteran Big Brothers and Big Sisters, some of whom have been mentoring for many years.  It is critical in the lives of children to have people who “are there” for them on a regular basis and who encourage them to see bright opportunities in their futures. That is what mentors do.

With active Lunch Buddy programs in many of our local school districts, BBBS is also appreciative of the teachers, counselors and other administrators who support our Lunch Buddy mentors. Their advice and guidance helps each Lunch Buddy Big Brother and Big Sister to be more effective.

And to those members of the community who have not yet discovered the wonder of mentoring a child, why not contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass in 2010?

We will help you find that “when you change the world of a child, you change the world.”
