The Rev. Dan Puckett: Jesus Christ is the prince of peace
Published 6:00am Saturday, December 26, 2009Nothing resonates in the human heart like the promise of peace. It may be personal peace, family peace, or world peace. We all want things to go well and to prosper.
When the prophet Isaiah spoke of the coming of Jesus Christ in Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6, 740 years before Jesus was born, he called Him the Prince of Peace.
Though Jesus is the Prince of Peace, peace does not always accompany the Christ-follower. Jesus said, in the gospel of Matthew, chapter 10, verse 34, “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
Jesus Christ was and is God the Son. He brought truth into the world-uncompromising truth-and truth divides. There are those who believe and those who do not believe; therefore, conflict may erupt in the midst of a family or any group when truth draws a line in the sand.
Truth must be accompanied by love and grace. The message of Christ is truth lived and spoken in loving and grace-filled ways without a hint of compromise on the sure teachings of Jesus Christ. The biggest problems arise when extra-biblical personal opinions are interwoven with the teachings of Jesus The main mission of Jesus was to give people the opportunity to have peace with God the Father. The Apostle Paul, in the epistle to the Romans, chapter 5, verse 1, declares, “we have peace with God through [faith in] our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Experiencing peace with God is to be delivered from the penalty of sin. We were born sinners, and as a result, we are at enmity with God. We had no power to heal the breach between us and Almighty God. Jesus Christ came as a baby, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and went to the cross of Calvary to pay the price of our sin. When we by faith confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead (Rom 10:9-10), we obtain peace with God.
There is also the peace of God. The Apostle Paul speaks of this peace in the epistle to the Philippians, chapter 4, verse 7: “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” A Christ-follower who is fully surrendered to the will of God for their life can have the peace of God in their heart and life.
Jesus will ultimately bring peace to the entire universe. We are told in, 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, verses 25-26, “He [Christ] must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” That will be peace, when death no longer prowls the earth. Every enemy that threatens peace will be conquered.
Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace – peace with God, the peace of God, and ultimately, complete peace.

Peace on earth and good will to men was the proclamation of the angels to the shepherds the night that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem.
Hello!
I want to comment on the view of foregiveness you present.
(le-havdil) How to live in order to enable the Creator in His loving kindness to provide His foregivness is outlined in Tan’’kh ( the Jewish Bible) ; and was also taught by the first century Ribi Yehoshua from Nazareth (the Mashiakh; the Messiah) (His teachings are found here: Netzarim.)
Tan’’kh – for example Yekhëzqeil (Hezekiel) 18 – promises foregivness to those who do their sincerest to keep the mitzwot (commandments) in Torah. The Creator cannot lie and He does not change (Malakhi 3:6)! According to Tehilim (“Psalms”) 103 the Creator gives His foregivness to those who do their sincerest to keep His berit (“covenant”; the pre-conditions to be included in the berit is according to the Jewish Bible to do ones sincerest to keep Torah). No human can keep Torah perfectly. There is a provision. Ribi Yehoshua ha-Mashiakh lived and kept Torah with the sincerest of his heart, died innocently and became a sacrifice. Because of that the Creator can give His foregiveness for the short comings (in keeping Torah) to everyone doing his/her sincerest to keep His instructions found in Torah, and to everyone turning away from their Torah-breaches to instead starting to do their sincerest to keep the instructions in Torah.
Thus the view found in Romans 10:9 is not in accordance with Torah.

Until the politicizing of Religion known as Christianity the
flock Jesus started was a Messianic assembly and Understood the Good News by a Jewish perception which differs greatly from the Gentile assembly paul ministered unto and much of the true emphasis of the gospel were lost by the gathering Church state jesus himself preached against.
Most even know Jesus was born in the early October, and
died on Passover day late wednesday afternoon.
Compramise with paganism has poluted the Church to the end
a Revival is no longer possable, as that assembly of truth needs
a resurection, as You cannot revive the dead.
