    Area coaching legend Bender dies

    BUCHANAN – Southwest Michigan coaching legend Don Bender died this morning.

    Bender coached 40 years in Niles, amassing some incredible records which earned him a spot in the Michigan High School Coaches Association and Michigan Football Coaches Association halls of fame.

    Halbritter Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
