Cloudy / 22° F3 teens injured in car accident
Published 5:12pm Friday, July 9, 2010Three teens were injured in an accident Wednesday in Mason Township.
Driver Bridget Teter, 17, of Edwardsburg; and passengers Taira Smith, 19, of Jones; and Ashley Wagner, 17, of Three Rivers were injured when a vehicle driven by Kathryn Yawkey, 46, of Cassopolis entered the intersection of Five Points Road and U.S. Highway 12 and failed to yield the right-of-way to Teter’s vehicle, which was traveling westbound. Smith and Wagner were not wearing seatbelts.
Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 5:50 a.m.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
