Police are investigating the death Tuesday of a 32-year-old seminary student at Andrews University.

The victim, a male citizen of the United Kingdom, was living alone at Garland Apartments.

The Andrews University Security Department was called Tuesday at approximately 8:32 p.m. by a student living in the Garland Apartments who advised he was having stomach and chest pains. Medic One ambulance was dispatched to the scene and Andrews Security responded to the location.

The Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department was notified by Berrien Emergency Dispatch that Medic One Ambulance was requesting them at the Garland Apartments. Upon arrival of the BSOTPD officers they learned of the medical call and that the subject in the apartment had died for what is at this time an unknown cause.

BSOTPD officers responded to the scene to conduct a death investigation with crime scene technicians processing the location of the death, but at this time no signs of foul play have been identified.

Immigration records show the victim last entered the U.S. on May 31 from Ontario Canada through Port Huron.

An autopsy was expected to be conducted Wednesday at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph to determine the cause of death.

The name of the victim is not being released by the police pending positive identification and notification of the next of kin.

The case remains under investigation.
