Niles freshmen football team improves to 2-0

The Niles freshmen football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 26-14 victory over Marshall Wednesday night.

The Vikings got a pair of touchdowns from both Steven Smith and Michael Farmer.

Jeremy Wortham picked up a fumble and Smith picked off a pass for the Niles defense.

“The offensive line did a great job led by Dustin Taggart,” Niles coach Steve Grayson said.

Niles opened its season with a 34-6 win over Coldwater last Thursday night.

Turning in big plays offensively for the Vikings were Steven Smith and Darek Bullock-Miller, along with Wortham.

Defensive standouts were Dustin Wirick and Taggart.

Deshawn Depriest played well on both sides of the ball.
