Berrien Springs’ Abrahams charged with 4th degree CSC

A Berrien Springs man has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the 4th degree for allegedly inappropriately touching a client at his in-home massage business.

Johan Abrahams was arrested Thursday after a two-month investigation.

According to Milton Agay, chief of the Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department, Abrahams was operating a massage business out of his home, during which time a 39-year-old female reported to police she was receiving massages from the defendant. The victim reported that as her therapy continued, the defendant began touching her in inappropriate places against her will.

The victim came forward to the police in reference to her incidents, but also wanted to make sure no one else became a victim as she had.

Following the investigation an arrest warrant was authorized by the Berrien County Prosecutors Office and issued by the Berrien County Trial Court for the arrest of the named defendant.

Abrahams, was arraigned by the Berrien County Trial Court and is awaiting a preliminary examination on the charged offenses.

Police are asking anyone who may have further information regarding the massage operation and/or the defendant to contact Det. Sgt. Patrick Teed at the Berrien Springs Oronoko Police Department. Police want to make sure there are no other victims who have not come forward, while ensuring anyone who may also have been victimized that they receive any help they may need based on their particular situation and justice is properly served.
