Ellison eighth in shot put at GVSU

ALLENDALE - Senior Kenyon Ellison of Niles finished eighth in the shot put on Monday at the Grand Valley State University Laker Challenge.

Ellison heaved the shot 46-feet. Niles' Cody Williams had a toss of 30-4.

Andrew Wortham was 10th in the high jump (5-10), while Jordan Pothoff cleared 5-6.

Luis Delmuro was 11th in the 400-meters with a time of 55.77. Wortham ran a time of 1:01.39 in the same event.

Mark Calhoun was 16th in the 1,600-meters with a clocking of 4:59.59.

Anthony Horvath was 20th in the 800-meters (2:18.34), while Brett Ortiz was 21st (2:19.11). David Davis was 20th in the long jump (18-10.5), while Justin Pothoff leaped 17-3.

The Niles 18th in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 9:27.84.

Jeremy Mutchler ran a time of 25.99 in the 200-meters, while A.J. Moore was clocked at 27.1 in the same event.

Niles' Brandon Hampton ran a time of 6.98 in the 50-meters.

The Lady Vikings head to Grand Valley today for the girl's half of the meet.

Events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
