Dowagiac's Scanlon wins state PP&K crown

DETROIT - Dowagiac's Brett Scanlon won his second state Punt, Pass & Kick championship on Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit.

Scanlon won the boys' 12-13 title with a distance of 279-feet-11.

Scanlon's kick of 109-2 was the longest of the day, not only in his age division, but the second longest in any division.

Troy Patton of Kentwood was second with a total distance of 277-9, while Alexander Lewis of Lake Orion finished third with a mark of 267-5.
